Measurements is the numerical representation of a thing possessed. Let say the thing's dimension, area, height, volume, surface area. Measurement and counting are both separate things. They are not the same or equal nor synonym. The standard units of measure which are used today are metric and English.
This a simple illustration of basic Units of measurements.
We will try to use that table of measurements in a simple problem.
Problem.
1. The side of the table measures 3 feet. What is the side of the table if it is measured in inches?
We knew basically that 1 foot is equal to 12 inches. Thus this mean that 3 feet is also 3 12 inches or 3 times 12 inches if converted.
Hence;
2. How many miles a car traveled with the speed of 60 kilometer per hour after 5 hours?
We know that 1 mile is equal to 1.069 kilometers. If a car traveled 60 kilometer per hour after 5 hours, it means the car traveled 300 kilometers.
Hence:
1 mi = 1.069 km
We convert this into,
