PERIMETER OF A RECTANGLE










      From the definition, Perimeter is a distance around a figure. Perimeter is measured by linear units. 

      Perimeter of a rectangle is simply the total distance of all the sides of the rectangle. We want to add all of these distances to get the perimeter. Based on the figure above, we have , or simply . We have an example to that so to understand the basic of its definition.

Example 1:

      A rectangular field has 10 meters long and 8 meters wide in it.What is the perimeter of the rectangular field?

Answer: P = 24 m.

3. A rectangle with length 10 ft. and width 6 ft.. Answer: P = 32 ft.

4. A square with side measures 8 meter. Answer: P = 32 m.

5. A rectangular garden with dimension 10 ft. as length and 7 ft. as width. Answer: P = 34 ft.

6. Table top with 2 ft. as width and 5 ft. as length. Answer: P = 14 ft.

7. A floor with perimeter 120 meter with length  40 meter. Answer: w = 20 m

8. A wall stands 8 ft. and has a perimeter of 100 ft. Answer: w = 42 ft.

9. A monitor screen with perimeter 96 in. and has width 20 in. Answer: l = 28 in.

10. American standard football field. (search the dimension) l= Answer: l = 360 ft., w = ?, P = ?
