ROUNDING OFF NUMBERS
The rule for rounding off numbers is focused on number 5,6,7,8,9. If you have to round off numbers to its nearest digit to be rounded off, simply add 1 to the left side part of the numbers 5,6,7,8,9. The 5,6,7,8,9 numbers will now then become zero including its right members. All of it will be zeros. And if it is not 5,6,7,8,9 then add 0 to the left side part of the numbers 5,6,7,8,9. The 5,6,7,8,9 numbers will now then become zero including its right members

Given the number 235. Round this number to its nearest tens. From 235 given number, 2 is the hundreds, 3 is the tens and 5 is the ones. The left side of 5 in 235 number is 3. So add 1 to 3 and the 5 becomes 0. Thus 235 is now 240. The number 5 is high lighted red so that it helps you monitor the location of 5 in the significant digit.
Given another example for the number 4547. Round this number to its nearest thousands. From 4547 given number, 4 is the thousands, 5 is the hundreds, 4 is the tens and 7 is the ones. The left side of 5 in 4547 number is 4 as your significant digit. So add 1 to 4 and the 5 becomes 0 including 4, and 7. thus the number 4547 when rounded off to its nearest thousands the result is 5000.
