What is Postulate?
A postulate is sometimes known as axioms. But their difference is that an axiom is more general while postulate is more on specific. Say axioms cover all sciences and postulate covers a specific type of science. Like axioms, postulates also covers "Anything assumed to be true without false" and is universally accepted. Common notations are what Euclid says because it is general, is an axiom.
Postulate sentence example:
1.) Ten is greater than six.
2.) 10 > 6
3.) A circle is round.
4.) The dollar is the U.S. currency.
5.) Amy is a common woman's name.
6.) A square is a four-sided polygon with each side measures the same and with four angles measures 90 degrees each.
7.) A circle a closed curve with an equal radius.
8.) Geometric postulates, see below
SSS: If the two triangles have three sides congruent, then the two triangles are congruent.
SAS: If the two sides of a triangle and an included angle are congruent, then the two triangles are congruent.
ASA: If two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the included side of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
AAS: If two angles and the non-included side one triangle are congruent to two angles and the non-included side of another triangle, then these two triangles are congruent.
7. ) Click Some Mathematical Axioms, it's also a postulate when applied.
Axiom sentence example:
1.) The world is round.
2.) Integers have positives and negatives.
3.) All men are mortals.
4.) Negative numbers are less than positive numbers.
5.) We are humans.

Notice that postulate, the examples are more specific and general on axiom. Axiom covers postulate because it is the general in terms of universal truth. Whilepostulate shows only distinct properties of an axiom. Mathematically speaking, the postulate is the subset of an axiom.
